The SFM Major Incident Response Vehicle (MIRV) is a mobile
command post with a dual role; it is used by SFM bureaus, mainly the FEIB, as a mobile base of operations for large scale incidents. The MIRV is also available as a local resource for disaster response operations in Ohio. The MIRV provides an enclosed climate controlled command post, but also includes computer electronic radio interoperability equipment, allowing different radio systems to be linked for large scale emergency incidents. The FEIB maintains and operates the MIRV. It is stocked with supplies and support equipment to support two FEIB officers for up to 7 days in the field on a long term operation, either for SFM or local departments.
