SOGG INTEREST CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT IS FINAL. PEOPLE WHO RECEIVED UNCLAIMED FUND PAYEMENTS SINCE AUGUST 3, 2000 ENTITLED TO INTEREST ON THOSE FUNDS
Effective October 9, 2012, the Order and Final Judgment in the Sogg class action lawsuit became final. The Honorable Richard A. Frye, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, Franklin County, Ohio, approved Settlement of the case after hearings in September 2012. The lawsuit ruled the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Unclaimed Funds (“Division”) is required to pay interest on unclaimed funds returned to its owners.
The Settlement and Final Judgment mean Sogg class members (persons who were paid unclaimed funds on or after August 3, 2000 through October 9, 2012, and who are entitled to interest of $5 or more on those funds) will be mailed a check for their interest from the court-appointed Settlement Administrator, Strategic Claims Services. Sogg class members who have questions about the payment of interest should contact the Settlement Administrator at 866-936-1101 (toll free) or visit the Settlement Website at www.strategicclaims.net/sogg.
